Abstract

What is the state of art of Science and Technology Studies in Italy? What happened in the last five years? In this paper, the departing President of STS Italia traces the main lines of research of STS scholars in Italy, highlighting the ways in which a scientific field (previously under-represented in the Italian scenario) has gained visibility and substance. In particular, the narration concentrates on the capacity of researchers to build research networks (at both national and inter- national level) actively contributing to the inter/national debate, as well as to ques- tion and innovate ways of thinking about technology and the social itself.
