CALL FOR ASSOCIATE BOARD MEMBERS

2025-10-24

Tecnoscienza—Italian Journal of Science & Technology Studies, indexed in Scopus and the Web of Science (ESCI), is seeking volunteers to join its Associate Board as part of its triennial renewal.
All academic journals rely on the efforts of peer reviewers to uphold high-quality scholarship. To support the Editorial Board in ensuring that the journal provides timely and constructive feedback on submissions, we invite STS scholars to join the Tecnoscienza Associate Board.

This Board offers individuals an opportunity to engage in the journal's ongoing success and contribute to the international STS discourse.
Associate Board members are expected to commit to reviewing at least one academic paper per year for the journal. Members should return constructive comments promptly (within four weeks), using the journal's review form. Attendance at meetings, either online or in person, is not required. Successful candidates will serve on the Board for three years, from January 2026 to December 2028. Membership on the Associate Board will be considered favourably for future applications for full Editorial Board membership.

We aim to include a diverse range of scholars, covering various areas of methodological, theoretical, and empirical expertise on the Associate Board. We expect candidates to hold a PhD in STS or a related social science field and to have experience with peer reviewing for social science journals. We also welcome early-stage researchers (in the later stages of their PhD or within three years of obtaining their PhD) who wish to enhance their peer review experience. We encourage colleagues who self-identify as ESR (please select “Early stage member” in the application form – link below) to apply, as these applications will be reviewed separately, and we will provide additional support and mentoring for the role. Candidates do not require an academic affiliation to be eligible. Colleagues working as independent researchers, between academic posts, or outside of the academic context are invited to apply (please indicate this in the application form).

To apply, please use this link: https://forms.gle/qJMjz4G6Rx8hYTEQ9. You will need to complete the form, including a cover letter (max 500 words).

The call will close on Thursday, 27 November 2025.

If you have any queries regarding the role, please contact the journal at: redazione.tecnoscienza@gmail.com.
Applications will be reviewed by the Editorial Board, and selected applicants will be notified by the end of December 2025.
